Karin Weller
Graphic Designer graduated from Universidad Rafael Landívar.
In 1992, she founded her own company, Nuevos Vitrales, driven by her passion for the multifaceted and limitless use of glass, transforming it into art. This allowed her creativity to flourish while introducing, for the first time in Guatemala, the technique of overlay stained glass. Karin is self-taught, though she has drawn significant experience from masters Dagoberto Vásquez and Ernesto Boesche, as well as designers Leisser Kachler, Jorge Rossi, and Danny Schafer. She has specialized in fused glass, grisaille, copper foil stained glass, and sandblasting. Additionally, she has participated in courses, conferences, and fairs in the United States, France, and Germany, earning a variety of international awards.
Some of her visible works in Guatemala City's architecture include the commercial stained glass façades of Hotel Las Américas and Century Plaza, as well as the religious stained glass in cañuela technique for the churches of San Miguel Petapa and the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary, among others.

En 1992 funda su propia empresa “Nuevos Vitrales”, como resultado de su pasión por el uso multifacético e ilimitado del vidrio, transformándolo en arte, dando paso a su creatividad y utilizando por primera vez en Guatemala, la técnica de los vitrales de cobertura. Karin es autodidacta, sin obviar, la experiencia que le compartieron los maestros Dagoberto Vásquez, Ernesto Boesche, los diseñadores Leisser Kachler, Jorge Rossi y Danny Schafer. Se ha especializado en vidrio fundido, grisalla, vitrales de cinta de cobre y en sandblast. Ha participado en cursos, conferencias y ferias en Estados Unidos, Francia y Alemania y se ha hecho acreedora a una diversidad de premios internacionales.
Algunos de sus trabajos visibles en la arquitectura de Ciudad de Guatemala son: los vitrales comerciales de la fachada del Hotel Las Américas y de Century Plaza; los vitrales religiosos en cañuela de las iglesias de San Miguel Petapa y de las Hermanas del Sagrado Corazón de María, entre otros.
